markvannfoundation – Launching the Japanese Broadcasting Company (Nippon Hoso Kyokai / NHK) on , the Japanese video game producer revealed that net profit for the period jumped 91 percent compared to a year earlier to 376.6 billion yen, or about US $ 3.6 billion.
Sales were up 37 percent to about $ 13.3 billion. Nintendo sold more than 30 copies of the games Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Meanwhile, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Pokemon Sword / Shield each sold more than 20 million copies.

By the end of its fiscal year ending March 31, 2021, Nintendo predicts it will sell as many as 26.5 million Switch units, with profit forecasts rising 33 percent to 400 billion yen.
